a covenant diary: entry 2

dear covenant diary, Rejoice! For I do not have to stand up and turn around whenever I have to search my bag. I can frisk my bag and run at the same time. I can look inside my bag while I'm prone! No more standing up and compromising my location to get shot at! What spell has enveloped Aeternum that made it so, diary? In the past, we could only look at the things we carry ONLY when we're standing still! Also, it appears that the hidden stash is back! They are hidden stashes that contain coins, diary! Are these from the Spark? I can't imagine anyone else doing this miracle, since I don't know how we can fit a stash filled with coins, motes, and gypsum inside a solid Starmetal vein. Does a person have to mine a platinum vein hollow, a tree trunk hollow, or a live animal hollow, just to place the hidden stash inside it and put everything back together? How can anyone cover a gaping hole over a live beast with its flesh? The horror. I also noticed that the travel do not con

I miss Maplestory 2

I've played New World. Now I miss Maplestory 2. Here are my reasons:

  • MS2 did not have any noticeable bugs after launch.
  • MS2 fostered creativity via the personal realms where you can decorate your own space.
  • MS2 had a working PVP which also can be toggled.
  • MS2 had a simplified guild system which functions as a base for more possible activities.
  • MS2 had random events where you can win.
  • MS2 had quick dungeon raids which were not mind numbing.
  • MS2 allows you to create multiple characters per server.
  • MS2 had a distinct vivid voxel art on its right.
  • MS2 had an overarching story that you follow regardless of what class you choose.
  • MS2 had pets that could deal a bit of damage.
  • MS2 had mounts which can fly too and did not make travel a chore.

MS2 shut down its global servers on March 27, 2020. My crew and I played MS2 for at least a year until we reached the top. Although the flame died out when we were satisfied with our in-game progress, we never thought that it was a bad game. We may have been bored, but that's not bad thing per se for an F2P MMO. That simply meant taking a break and coming back once we're no longer bored. However, MS2 shut down when devs believed it failed to capture a unique essence as the original Maplestory. I must disagree.

As someone who never played the original Maplestory, I thought that MS2 was a fun and pleasant experience on its own. I think that the developers gave up on the game (at least on the global server) too soon. When you consider the pandemic, this free-to-play MMO could have been a hit due to people being stuck at home. Bottom line is, MS2 still exists on SoKor and China; so how come they still have it - granted it's scaled down? Now we look at the possibility of private servers. For now, we'll have to browse the web for emulating our own Maplestory 2 private server. Maplestory 2, I miss you.

And no I'm not taking pot-shots at New World.

Okay, maybe a little.
